Welcome to Aer Lingus Divers

Aer Lingus Divers (ALD) was founded in 1981 as the Aer Lingus/Aer Rianta Sub Aqua Club, with members

coming from Aer Lingus and Aer Rianta. We are now open to the all who wish to dive.    

In 1994 the club was renamed Aer Lingus Divers.

As a club we’re proudly affiliated to Comhairle Fo Thuinn (CFT) i.e. the Irish Underwater Council.   CFT is the national governing body for SCUBA diving, and other activities including snorkelling.

As a club we strive for safety and exceed all safety rules and recommendations set out by CFT. Our divers

are expected to obtain the minimum standard of Club Diver **, which involves a number of basic

requirements include: medical exams; sea snorkelling skills; fitness and scuba pool work; diver theory

classes and numerous logged dives.

As CFT is affiliated to Confederation Mondiale Des Activites Subaquatiques (CMAS) - the World

Underwater Federation) any qualification you receive with ALD will have worldwide recognition.

On the world stage CFT divers are held in very high regard as some of the best-trained divers in the World.
